Its no secret that many average people today are making a full time living through eBay. What people don't know is that many are making a load of money on ebay off of simple mistakes made by the ones that are still trying to make the money. One of the methods for doing that is through misspelled eBay listings.

You see, when you search for an item that you want to buy on eBay, the listings that appear are only those containing the word or words you searched for. But what about the people that made an error in the listing. Maybe they typed Guci purse instead of Gucci purse or Okley Sunglasses, instead of Oakley. You get the point.

You might be surprised, but this happens 100's or even 1000's of times a day. These people

To use the Misspelled Search Engine just type in a keyword that you want to search for and then click on the text that appears below reading "Find Misspellings of '___' on eBay.com." Make sure you spell the word correctly when entering it in the search box. To get the best results only enter one word per search. For example if you want to search for Dooney & Bourke do two seperate searches one with Dooney and one with Bourke. After clicking on the text that pops up, a new window will appear taking you directly to eBay with all the possible misspellings of the word you enter. Have fun and good luck with your searches.

Start Searching Misspelled Listings on eBay.com Now!
Here are some tips on making this work for you:
  • When using the eBay misspelled search engine make sure you spell the word you are searching for correctly. The search engine will then pull listings on eBay for every possible misspelling of that word.
  • Always research the item before bidding to see how much you can make on it. If you buy something no one else wants to buy then the spelling doesn't really matter. Check out this post on my blog to see how you can find out if your item is selling and for how much.  This info can make a huge difference in your profits when you list an item for sale.
  • A cool feature on your My eBay page lets you add a note to items you are watching or winning after placing bids. By utilizing this tool you can do your research and find out how much the item your are looking at has previously sold for and put that in the note so you know how high you are willing to bid for that item. Click here to see how to add a note on your My eBay Page.
  • For best results only search one word at a time. If you are looking for Abercrombie and Fitch for example you would do 2 seperate searches one for Abercrombie, one for Fitch.  The same thing would apply for non name brand searches as well like circular saw for example would also have 2 searches.
  • When researching the item and figuring out what you can make, make sure you don't forget to figure in the costs of listing the item with eBay. Ebay charges fees for listing an item and also another fee when the item sells. The fees vary depending on the options you want and the selling price. If you use Paypal to receive payments, you also need to figure in the cost of their fees which is again based on the selling price. To see a full list of fees for both eBay and Paypal checkout this post on my blog.
  • Only use this method on auction items, not buy it now items. The buy it now items are already priced at what they want to get for it. With the auction style you can find the best deals.
  • Keep in mind that there are other people doing this as well. You don't want to get an attatchment to a certain item and end up spending more than you should and lose any profit you could have had.
  • Make a game out of this. Ebay can be a lot of fun if you let it. So go up to the Misspelled tool now and start earning your share of money on eBay today!
